ADILIA MARTINEZ GOMEZ
$60.00

The Martinez family have been growing  Catuaí, Catimor and IH90 varietals intercropped with native forest, lime, orange and avocado since the early 90’s and is now run by Adilia Martinez Gomez and her husband Felipe Martinez. The coffees come from an 11 year old plot and cherries were hand picked and processed as a honey before being shade dried for 20 days. Adilia has a strict regiment of biannual fertilizing, which allow her to achieve good yields and protect her 9000 trees from pest and disease damage. In addition to this she integrates coffee pulp back into the soil, which improves the soil structure and nitrogen levels. Wastewater from the processing is collected for fumigation around the farm, or disposed of in evaporation tanks, where the residual organic matter is used to farm Red Californian earthworms.
